There are two ways to earn rewards, and they work a little differently. Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions about the rewards earned for your deposits while saving up for a merchant.
If you earned rewards by using Accrue at checkout to pay with your bank you can find FAQs about those rewards here: Pay by Bank FAQs
Where do the rewards come from?
Merchant partners have teamed up with Accrue to offer reward money towards your purchases. Every deposit you make to your wallet will earn you rewards. This helps you save quicker for the things you want and rewards you for doing so.

How do I get the highest amount of rewards?
Your reward amount can increase as you make deposits and actively work towards your savings. It can also decrease for inactivity. Your account is considered inactive after 30 days of no action, The best way to guarantee the most rewards for your purchase is to keep your account active by depositing at least monthly towards your goal.
Can they be used on my purchase or are they money off a future purchase?
All rewards you earn can be used towards your purchase. For example: If you are planning to buy something for $100 you will set that as your goal. As you make deposits towards that goal you earn rewards along the way. If you earn $10 in rewards you would only need to deposit $90 towards that $100 goal.
What if I spend less than my savings goal?
Rewards are applied at the time of purchase on a prorated basis.
For example: If you have a $500 balance including $400 in your deposits and $100 in earned rewards and you make a purchase for $250 (50% of total savings goal balance) then you would use $200 in your deposits and $50 in rewards. The remaining balance would stay in your savings until you make another purchase or stop your savings and withdraw.

What if I spend more than my savings goal?
We offer a buffer amount to make your purchase in case the amount is over your savings goal. If you spend more than what is in your savings, we will issue a one-time transaction from your payment source to cover the remainder. You will still earn rewards on the one-time deposit that will be added to your wallet for a future purchase.
For example, If you had a savings goal of $500 and were earning 10% in rewards at the time, and your total purchase amount was $600. We would issue a one time transfer from your attached payment source for $100. You would then have $10 in rewards added to your account to use later.
